Veteran comedian Hamid Gurkha was laid to rest at the Masjid Kota Raja Muslim cemetery in Kampung Jawa after Isyak prayers tonight. - BERNAMA
KLANG: Veteran comedian Hamid Gurkha was laid to rest at the Masjid Kota Raja Muslim cemetery in Kampung Jawa after Isyak prayers tonight.
Earlier, his remains were taken to Kota Raja Mosque for funeral prayers before the burial at 9.50 pm.
Family members and several close friends from the entertainment industry were seen at the funeral, among them, singer Datuk Nashrudin Elias (Nash) and comedian Sulaiman Yassin (Mat Over).
The 89-year-old comedian, whose real name was Abdul Hamid Abdul Rahman, died of old age at Tengku Ampuan Rahiman Hospital at 2.19 pm today.
Hamid's best known films include Panglima Badol, Senario The Movie and Zombi Kampung Pisang.
