Villagers found bones in Pos Pulat jungle
Rajab says the police had yet to identify if the bones were human or animal bones.
Villagers involved in the search operation of two men, reported missing while searching for kemuning wood in the jungle in Pos Pulat since June 13, found scattered bones at a hill nearby Saturday.
Gua Musang District Police chief Supt Rajab Ahad Ismail said the police had yet to identify if the bones found at 1.45pm were human or animal bones.
"We are in the process of bringing the bones out of the jungle and have them tested for DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid)," he told reporters here Sunday.
He said the villagers also found a knife sheath, shoes and clothes near the spot the bones were found.
Zarani Abdullah Zawawi, 37, and an Orang Asli villger, Sudin Salleh, in his 30s, from Kampung Kuala Lah here were reported missing since they went into the jungle on June 13.
The duo usually took between one and two weeks to be in the jungle to search for kemuning wood as a source of income.
Zarani's wife, Maskah Ab Kadir, 37, lodged a missing persons report here on June 30 after search efforts by the villagers the day before only found the vehicle they used near the edge of the jungle.
So far the search operation involved personnel from the police, Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defence and villagers.
