A security guard who had walked from Kuantan to the Shah Alam Stadium to pay 'homage' for Pahang's 1-0 Malaysia Cup triumph over Kelantan last year has decided to walk throughout the country this year.
Two days after Pahang had beaten Johor Darul Ta'zim to retain the title, Abdul Majid Abdul Hamid, 58, began his journey from the Darul Makmur Stadium at 9.30am Tuesday.
Majid said he wanted to take the mammoth challenge to offer his gratitude to God for letting his team win the title.
"I am not doing this to seek publicity or glamour but merely fulfilling a promise that I had made prior to the Malaysia Cup final. I am doing this at my own expenses and will.
"I have no intention of gaining popularity as some may say," said Abdul Majid who started off his journey with the Pahang and Malaysia flags plus a few clothes.
