The warden of a vocational school in Sungai Buloh who was alleged to have assaulted a student on Monday has been suspended for two weeks pending an investigation.

Deputy Education Minister Datuk P. Kamalanathan said the recording of the incident that went viral on social media is viewed very seriously by the Education Ministry and police would be called in to investigate if necessary.

In the video clip, the warden was said to have assaulted the student on May 8.

"The ministry is very disappointed with such incidents because educationists and teachers have been repeatedly warned against taking severe action to discipline students. There has been repeated incidents and teachers have been told to not act on their own when handling such situations," he said when
launching the 'Deaf Screening Clinic' programme at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Choh, here Wednesday.
