KUALA LUMPUR: Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil is urging the public to watch the biopic "Anwar: The Untold Story", which will be screened in cinemas nationwide from May 18. The film depicts Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's life and political struggles.
After attending the movie's premiere yesterday, Fahmi shared on his Facebook that he was touched by the portrayal of Anwar's life journey in it.
"Reliving the twists and turns of Datuk Seri Anwar's journey in the movie made us all teary-eyed, especially so for his family members who watched it.
"I would recommend to my friends to go catch the movie's first screening in the cinemas on May 18," he said.
"Anwar: The Untold Story", by Indonesian director Viva Westi, stars local actor Farid Kamil Zahari as Anwar and well-known Indonesian actress Acha Septriasa as Anwar's wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
The film, set between 1993 and 1998, revolves around Anwar's life journey when he was deputy prime minister and finance minister and depicts his struggles against corruption.
'Anwar: The Untold Story' was shot in Malaysia and Indonesia at a cost of RM10 million.
