Water supply to 73.37 per cent or 948 locations of the 1,292 areas hit by the unscheduled water disruption in seven regions in the Klang Valley has been fully restored as at 6.30 am.
Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) Corporate Communications chief, Elina Baseri in a statement, said the remaining 344 areas were still in the process of being restored.
Hulu Selangor became the first area to record 100 per cent water supply resumption, followed by Kuala Selangor (99.25 per cent); Petaling (91.78 per cent); Gombak (72.99 per cent); Kuala Langat (50 per cent); Kuala Lumpur (47.37 per cent) and Klang/Shah Alam (38.42 per cent).
Elina said consumers who have received their water supply are advised to use it prudently to facilitate the process of restoring the supply to other areas.
Efforts are being intensified to stabilise the water supply distribution system to enable supply to be restored to areas that are still affected, she added.
The Sungai Selangor Phase 1, 2, 3 and Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plants were forced to stop operation on Thursday due to pollution at the raw water source.
