KUALA LUMPUR: Several areas in Kuala Lumpur and Gombak are experiencing water supply disruption due to slow pumping of raw water to the treatment plant at Sungai Selangor Phase 1 and 3.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas), in a statement today, said pumping of raw water to the plant was affected due to the rubbish which had piled up at the intake point when the garbage trap in the river broke.
The areas affected by the water supply disruption included Bukit Antarabangsa, Setapak Jaya, Taman Sri Rampai and the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) at Jalan Semarak.
"All efforts are being made to restore the pumping of raw water to the treatment plant," it said.
Meanwhile, water supply is being sent using tanker lorries to the affected areas.
