A weak earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale hit Ranau, Sabah, at 1.25pm, Tuesday.

The Meteorological Department in a statement said the quake's epicentre was at six degrees north and 116.6 degrees east, 10 kilometres southwest of Ranau.

The quake tremors were felt in Ranau and the department is monitoring the situation and any latest development will be informed immediately.
