A weak earthquake with magnitude 2.6 on the Richter scale occurred near Ranau, Sabah at 11.39pm last night.

A statement issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department said the epicentre of the earthquake was 11km west of Ranau.

Tremors were felt in Ranau.
