A weak earthquake of 2.3 on the Richter scale was detected in Ranau, Sabah, at 5.18 am today.

According to the Meteorology Department, the epicentre was at 6.0 degrees north and 116.6 degrees east, 11km west from Ranau.

Tremor was felt in Ranau.
