THIS could possibly be the cheapest smartphone in India – or the world – and could revolutionize the industry.
According to CNBC.com, India-based Ringing Bells has produced the Freedom 251 smartphone and is selling for around $4 (RM16.70).
"This is our flagship model and we think it will bring a revolution in the industry,” a company spokeswoman told AFP.
As reported by NDTV, some of the features on this phone include a 4-inch screen, 0.3 megapixel front camera and a 3.2 megapixel back camera.
This project has been developed “with immense support” from the Indian government, in its bid to provide digital access for all Indians.
Previously, India launched a Aakash tablet with a price of 3,000 rupee (RM183.14) as the government’s effort to provide affordable gadgets for its college students.
