It's the nomination day for the Kuala Besut by-election today and our team in Kuala Besut as well as in the newswoon in Kuala Lumpur are all set to provide the full coverage on this important event.

This by-election is an important battle groud for both ruling Barisan National and the opposition PAS and its Pakatan Raykat allies as it might determines the future of Terengganu state assembly.

It is important for BN to retain the seat as otherwise the state assembly will be "hung".

Terengganu has 32 state constituency seats. During the 13th General Election BN won 17 seats while Pakatan Rakyat (PR) won 15 seats. Should PR win, the assembly seats will be a 16-16 tie.

Meanwhile in Shah Alam, the Minister of Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed is expected to meet face to face with the public especially those who resist the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) following concerns over its impact on national sovereignty should it be inked.

The closed dialogue will be hosted by Kumpulan Media Karangkraf and will be moderated by Prof Dato' Mohamad Abu Bakar from International and Strategic Studies University Malaya. The dialogue will also be featuring the Executive Officer of Malay Economic Action Council Mohd Nizam Mashar.
