The Deputy Finance Minister, Datuk Ahmad Maslan expressed regret that his late father's name is used for a game developed for Android smartphones.
"My father has passed away, please do not drag him into this. Maslan was a poor and illiterate rubber tapper," told Ahmad to Astro AWANI.
A new game called ‘Maslan 3.85 Extended Version' and 'Volleyball Maslan' began to be promoted on social networking sites including WhatsApp messaging system on Wednesday.
According to Ahmad, the game developers do not know his name and continue to use his father’s name thus making the situation even worse.
“They don’t even know my name,” said Ahmad.
Ahmad had earlier said that he was frustrated when his statements on Goods and Service Tax (GST) were twisted by certain quarters.
Ahmad said he realised that he has been a target for ridicule after the implementation of the GST.
This issue also gathered quite reactions from Twitter users.
Most of netizens expressed sympathy and stated that the game developers’ actions were outrageous.
