William Yau's parent was asked to identify a body of a child

However, it is yet to be confirmed whether the body found is the missing child, William Yau Zhen Zhong, who has been missing since Jan 16.

South Klang district police chief, ACP Mohamad Mat Yusop said the body was sent immediately to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for autopsy. At the same time William’s parent have been notified and asked to go to the hospital to identify the body.

“The body was discovered floating near the jetty by a member of public around 7.30pm and was brought out by the villagers,” said Mohamad.

The body had an injury mark on his head and was found clad with an orange T-shirt and yellow shorts.

However, it is unsure whether the injury was due to bludgeon or due to being hit by a boat.

On Jan 16, William Yau Zhen Zhong was reported missing by his parent, Yau Kok Kang, 38 and his wife, Goh Ying Ying, 26 after he went out from their car to find both of them because their sister had started crying.

The family initially stopped at an electrical shop in Jalan Putra Mahkota 7/6C, Putra Height at 8.30pm, to check on washing machines and left William with his elder brother and youngest sister inside a car.

When they returned to the car about 15 minutes later, William was nowhere to be seen.

William’s parent and the store employees helped them to look for the boy in the neighbourhood but the search proved to be unsuccessful.
