KAJANG:A woman and her younger brother were charged in the Kajang Magistrate's Court today with the murder of her blind husband at Kampung Baru Sungai Chua here earlier this month.
G.S. Angela Dewi, 45, who operates an eatery and her brother Vijaya, 42, an eatery assistant, nodded to indicate they understood the charge read out by the court interpreter before magistrate Muhammad Noor Firdaus Rosli.
However, no plea was recorded from them.
The duo were charged with the murder of R. Devarajoo, 59, at a house in the PKNS low-cost housing area in Kampung Baru Sungai Chua here between noon and 1pm on Oct 1.
The charge, under Section 302 of the Penal Code, provides for the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Hairuliqram Hairuddin, did not offer bail to the two accused who were not represented by a lawyer.
Astro AWANI on Wednesday reported that a woman was planning to kill her husband who is also disabled (OKU) with blind disability to get his property.
According to Kajang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan, the murder was planned with the 42-year-old sister.
He said the 45-year-old female suspect initially lodged a police report claiming that her husband was robbed while the victim was at their house in Jalan Jati, Kampung Baru Sungai Chua, Kajang, on October 1.
"The investigation found that the suspect allegedly hired his younger brother to come to their house to kill her husband who is also a businessman.
"The woman's younger brother acted by hitting the victim's head with a hammer as well as fleeing with the necklace she was wearing," he said in a statement.Enable GingerCannot connect to Ginger Check your internet connection or reload the browserDisable in this text fieldEditEdit in GingerEdit in Ginger×
