Woman bludgeoned to death, relative arrested
The suspect was nabbed less than 24 hours after he was alleged to have attacked the woman.
A woman, who had recently given birth, died upon arrival at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital on Wednesday, less than an hour after she was bludgeoned at her shophouse in Taman Sri Pulai near here.
M. Sila, 27, succumbed to head injuries.
The police have detained a close relative in connection with the murder.
The suspect, who is unemployed, was picked up at 2.45am Wednesday, in a public area in Yong Peng, about 100km from the victim's shophouse in Jalan Meranti.
Nusajaya police chief Supt Nor Hashim Mohamed said the suspect was nabbed less than 24 hours after he was alleged to have attacked the woman, following a quarrel.
In a statement on Wednesday, he said the attack was believed to have occurred about 6.40am on Tuesday.
