A policewoman turned midwife today to help a woman gave birth to a baby girl in the compound of the Kampung Tawas police station.
The policewoman, Hasliza Abdul Jalil, 25, assisted the woman to deliver the baby in a car at about 1.15pm.
It was learnt that the woman, from Klebang Putra, was being taken by her husband to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital, to deliver the baby.
However, realising that they could not reach the hospital on time, the husband went to the police station to seek help.
An ambulance was then called to take the mother and baby to the hospital. Both of them were reported in stable condition.
