Woman killed, baby severely injured in Miri accident

A woman was killed and her one-month-old baby girl was severely injured when the car they were in collided with a four-wheel drive vehicle at Jalan Bakam here yesterday.

Miri Police deputy chief Supt Stanley Johnathan Ringgit said today the woman was identified as Fatin Liyana Jafri, 22, and her daughter as Aifa Fhanieyra Aqilla Muhammad Adeni Jeludin, who suffered a head injury in the accident which occurred at about 7 pm.

"The baby was sent to the Miri Hospital along with her injured father who was driving the car, he said.

Stanley said the driver of the four-wheel drive vehicle was unhurt while the passengers suffered light injuries.
