Woman killed, husband seriously injured after motorcycle was hit by car

A woman was killed while her husband was seriously injured when their motorcycle was hit by a car in front of a petrol station in Tanjung Lumpur, here this morning.

Kuantan District police chief ACP Abdul Aziz Salleh said Sarimah Abdul Razak, 22, was killed at the scene while her husband, Afif Shazwan Qugust, 23, was seriously hurt and was now being treated at Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) here.

"In the incident at 8.30am, the couple were on their Yamaha Lagenda motorcycle heading for the town centre from Tanjung Lumpur.

"At the same time, a car suddenly emerged from a petrol station on the left side of the road headed for a U-turn before colliding with the victims," he told Bernama today.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
