Saedah Sidek, 66, had the shock of her life when she found the decomposing body of her son, believed to have died five days ago, in her house at Kampung Pulau Sebang, Alor Gajah, near here, at about 10am today.
Alor Gajah district police chief, Supt Muhamad Ismail Muhamad Yusuf said the woman was in Kuala Lumpur since Dec 18 to send a sibling of the victim for umrah.
He said inspection on the remains of Mohd Ridzwan Tambi Chik, 37, found bloodstains on the victim's head while his wallet and identity card were missing.
"The case has so far been classified as sudden death, but we will wait for the results of the post-mortem which is expected to be conducted tomorrow," he said when contacted by Bernama Sunday.
He said the victim, who worked at a shipping company in Johor Bahru had returned to his mother's house for the holidays, while the initial investigation also found the victim, who was a widower, had no major illness.
