Woman's suicide bid goes awry after boyfriend comes to rescue

A suicide attempt by a 48-year-old woman turned awry after her boyfriend stepped in to stop her from jumping from the 19th floor of a condominium here today.

The gripping episode occurred at Pertama Residency, Taman Kobena here at around 3.37pm today.

Soon after a distress call was made, the Cheras and Jalan Hang Tuah Fire and Rescue Department personnel were dispatched to the location.

Several firemen had reportedly attempted to persuade the woman to change her mind.

An ‘air cushion’ is placed on the lower ground as precautionary measure, before the woman’s boyfriend managed to rescue her.
