Woman shot dead in front of own daughter

A woman was shot dead in front of her daughter at Taman OUG, Jalan Klang Lama in Bukit Jalil, around 2.45 this evening.

Her daughter, who is 8 years old, was also shot and is now in critical condition due to being seriously wounded.

According to KL CID chief Senior Asst Comm Rusdi Mohd Isa, the 32-year-old victim worked as a real estate agent.

Before the incident, she was having lunch with her children and her maid at a nearby restaurant.

"A man on a motorcycle approached the woman's car and shot the victim at close range.

"Early investigations have found that the suspect had fired five shots with one hitting the woman's head," he said.

The woman's daughter who was sitting next to her was also shot and has been rushed to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for emergency treatment.

Police are still investigating the motive of the incident and will examine the footage from the CCTV cameras in the area to identify the suspect.

The case has been classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Rusdi also calls for anyone with information on the incident to contact or visit the nearest police station.
