The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry will present the ministry's accomplishments to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak at a meeting in Putrajaya today, said its Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim.
She said the meeting would also discuss the ministry's targets and strategic direction for the future.
"Among matters to be raised at the meeting are our success in achieving the 30 percent target for women in positions at decision-making levels in the public sector.
"As at December 2015, our record shows 35.11 percent of policy makers in the public sector are women," she said at the International Women's Day 2016 event, themed, Pledge for Parity, here yesterday.
The event was officiated by the Sarawak Chief Minister's wife, Puan Sri Jamilah Anu.
Elaborating she said, the Ministry's next target was to have 50 percent women participation as policy makers in the public sector.
Earlier in her speech, Rohani said women around the world should continue to fight for equal rights.
She said it was about time that everyone made a pledge to support equality in all aspects of life.
"Women labour force participation has increased to 53.9 percent compared to 49.5 percent in 2012," she said, adding that the ministry's statistic showed women have achieved success in various fields.
