The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) is worried if marriage will be used as an excuse for statutory (video) rapists to acquit themselves from the prosecution of rape.

This is in light of the case of a 13 year old who was raped by a 40 year old man in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, who agreed to marry him later.
