Kelana Jaya MP Wong Chen admitted that he made a mistake in naming Deutsche Bank country manager Datuk Yusof Annuar Yaacob as one of the five people connected to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) when submitting a parliamentary question, The Malaysian Insider reported Tuesday.
In his question to the Home Ministry, the PKR lawmaker asked for the whereabouts of Yusof, who is former Goldman Sachs Malaysia managing director, Malaysian millionaire Low Taek Jho or Jho Low, former 1MDB executive directors Casey Tang Keng Chee and Jasmine Loo Ai Swan, and SRC International managing director Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil.
However, Wong said he had meant to name SRC International director Datuk Suboh Md Yassin instead of Yusof.
"It's an error on my part. I meant to ask about Suboh," the report quoted Wong as saying.
Yesterday, the Home Ministry said there was no investigation conducted by the police against Jho Low and also no request from any parties to seek Interpol's assistance to locate him.
"There is no request from any quarters requesting Interpol to trace the person named," the ministry stated in a written reply to Wong's question, issued at the Dewan Rakyat Tuesday.
Nik Faisal and Suboh were to be interviewed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) soonest to facilitate the anti-graft agency in its investigation.
