Worker lives despite struck by falling bricks
A Myanmar construction worker is fighting for his life at the Penang Hospital after he was struck by about 500 falling bricks at a construction site in Bayan Lepas Wednesday.
Hossain, 24, has been warded at the hospital's intensive care unit where doctors have described his condition as critical.
In the 10am incident, the victim was working on the fourth floor of a building under construction when about 500 bricks fell on him from the 12th floor after the planks of a carrier gave way.
The impact caused Hossain to fall to the third floor before fellow workers sent him to the hospital.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, his brother, Amir Hussain, 17, said Hossain sustained multiple bruises on the neck and back.
