'WSJ's allegations an outright lie' - 1MDB

1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) reiterated that it has never deposited any funds into the personal bank account of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

In a statement today, the state development fund described the recent allegations by Wall Street Journal (WSJ) as "baseless and unproven", and that their reporting on this matter was "an outright lie".

"Contrary to the Wall Street Journal's baseless and unproven allegations, 1MDB has consistently maintained that it has not paid any funds to the personal accounts of the Prime Minister," 1MDB said.

1MDB also stated that the matter had been reiterated by multiple lawful authorities, including the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC), the Attorney-General as well as various reputable international publications which had confirmed that the said funds came from Saudi Arabia.

"To therefore suggest, as the WSJ has, that their reporting on this matter has never been called into question, is not only disingenuous but an outright lie," said 1MDB.
