XLR8 - All you need to know about it

We’ve been talking about XLR8 for the past few weeks, we’ve even created an event on FB all about it, but what is XLR8? Here’s your answer:

If you’ve missed the social media posts about XLR8 the entire month than you probably don’t know that XLR8 is actually an extension of CAR Magazine Malaysia’s highly successful signature event King of Clubs. Hang on, “extension”? Yes extension, let us explain.

After the success of King of Clubs last year, a plan to make the event bigger, better with Asian car clubs in attendance started forming in the back burner of our brains. So bigger we planned and better we got with invitations sent out to all Japanese car clubs that we could find. We’ve moved our location as well, from Melawati stadium in Shah Alam all the way to the large airfield in Pullman Putrajaya Lakeview.

That means we’ve got plenty of land to play around with and that inspired us to include activities that fits the entire family whose idea of quality family time involves all things that runs on four wheels. So that had us creating a carnival we called XLR8.

XLR8 will be divided into five sections with King of Clubs as the main event. Come on over and watch the car clubs go up against each other as they fight for the crown as the King of clubs. You don’t want to miss this, it’s more intense than ever before!

Realise your childhood dreams at the Movie Icon dome where cars like Fast & Furious’ Dominic Toretto’s 1960’s Dodge Challenger, Triple X’s 1965 Pontiac GTO and our childhood small screen hero KITT will make an appearance.

That’s not all, the legendary Flying Sikh, Karamjit Singh, will also be there to hold a series of performances in Mercedes-AMG 45 cars, courtesy of Mercedes-Benz, in the Tarmac Warriors section. Watch as he drift and burn some rubber in car stunts that are guaranteed to leave your mouths hanging open.

If you have a classic car itch as big as our Writer, than you would be extremely happy to know that Asia Klasika will be held as part of the activities at XLR8. Yes, come on over and sooth your classic car love over at the Asia Klasika section that will feature over 80 classic cars and 20 classic bikes!

We’ve even prepared for you to rest as well! When you’re feeling tired and hungry, stop by the Fest for All section for a food recharge at the number of food trucks we have on display or shop till you drop at the boutiques. If you just want to rest and relax go ahead and jump onto one of the Doof bean bags that we’ve prepared for you.
