JOHOR BAHRU:Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (Yadim) is always willing to give a better understanding of Islam according to the teaching of the Ahli Sunnah Wal-Jamaah to all communities of this country.
Chief executive officer Tuan Kamarul Arief Tuan Soh said the agency was also prepared to enlighten those involved in the teaching called “Malay Religion” which is said to be led by an individual known as “Ibu Yati”.
“Yadim will accept anyone who is interested to know on the true religion of Islam. We are very open," he told reporters during a Chinese New Year (CNY) programme at the Nur Ehsan Senior Citizens Care Centre, here today.
He said this when asked to comment on the 'Malay Religion' issue which had earlier been reported to be under investigation by the authorities, after it was reported to have deviated from Islamic teachings.
Tuan Kamarul Arief said the Islamic Amal Council, an entity under Yadim would be mobilised to provide understanding on the true teachings of Islam and the effort would be intensified through various other platforms including social media.
According to him, Yadim plans to organise webinar programmes of an informative nature for the public, besides launching the Nadwah Islam Kekuatan Ummah (Nadiku 2021) roadshow programme, later this month.
On the CNY programme today, Tuan Kamarul Arief said Yadim had allocated RM30,000 for distribution of necessities such as rice, disposable diapers, prayer garments and pillows to inmates of nursing homes and new Muslim reverts around the city.
The programme organised in collaboration with the Johor branch of the Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association (MACMA) and the Malaysian Muslim Welfare Organisation (Perkim) was to highlight the importance of harmony in fostering unity and promoting Islam as a beautiful religion.
