Young couple detained for drug trafficking

A young married couple was detained after police found 80 bottles of white powder, believed to be heroin, in a raid at their house in Kampung Balai Besar.

Dungun district police Supt Ahmad Zailani Yaacub said two motorcycles and RM6,000 were also seized in the raid which was conducted last Friday following a tip-off.

He said urine tests conducted on the man, aged 21 and his 17-year-old wife, tested negative.

The couple have been remanded for seven days to facilitate investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act, he added.
