Young woman who stabbed husband remanded for six days

A young woman who was suspected of stabbing her husband to death in an incident at a house in Sungai Abong here yesterday has been remanded for six days to assist investigations.
The remand on the 18-year-old suspect was issued by Magistrate Zuraidah Abu Bakar at the Muar Court Complex here.
The suspect who is hawker in Muar and Tangkak districts was remanded to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
Earlier the suspect who was in lock-up attire and a green scarf was handcuffed when brought to the court at about 8.40am before being brought out four hours later.
Yesterday, the media reported a woman had been arrested after she was believed to have stabbed her husband she married six months ago with a knife.
In the 1.43pm incident, it was believed the suspect was unhappy after the victim, Mohd Firdaus Md Salehuddin, 28, who worked as a poultry slaughterman in the market here did not return to their home in Parit Bunga, Tangkak for several days.
Following that, police apprehended the suspect at the incident location and confiscated the weapon used.
