Youth held over attempted murder of elderly woman

The Pasir Mas Magistrate's Court today ordered a 19-year-old youth to be remanded for seven days over an investigation into attempted murder after he had allegedly slashed the left ankle of an elderly woman in a robbery.
Magistrate Mohd Izuddin Shukri ordered that the youth be remanded from today.
The youth had allegedly entered the house of Mek Som Mat Diah, 89, in Kampung Tanjung Rendang, Lemal, at about 6pm yesterday to rob her.
He allegedly became aggressive and slashed Mek Som when she and her children refused to part with their money.
