Youth urged not to participate in political rally
Youth and Sports Ministry is urging the youths not to waste time to participate in any political rally. Its Deputy Minister Datuk M. Saravanan said the youths today are more mature and they can decide what is right or wrong. "What is important for the youths now, is economic empowerment and not wasting their time in the politically motivated rally," he told reporters after launching the National Youth Festival, Penang chapter, here today. He was asked to comment on youth participation in the Black 505 rally which was expected to be held at Padang Merbok, next Saturday. He said the youths should not believe blindly on the claims by the opposition and join the rally to show support. "The rally is organised to benefit certain individual and the youths must think before participating in any rally to avoid any untoward incident," he said. He said the youths wanted the economic and political stability of the country to continue. "They can make their own decision and agree with the General Election outcome," he said. He added that it was the opposition who were not satisfied with the General Election outcome. However, Saravanan also said his ministry was focusing on resolving unemployment among the youths.
