Youths need the right icon to map their life's direction and achieve desired goals to realise the 2050 National Transformation Policy (TN50) founded by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
Higher Education Minister, Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said the icon could guide them to be more focused in meeting the achievements they desired and simultaneously help them to achieve success in line with the aspiration of TN50.
"Like today, youths in Besut, are given a picture of a young man or icon by the name of Firdaus Imtiaz, who has reaped numerous successes at local and international levels.
"He is portrayed not only as a chief executive officer in a multi-national company but also memorises the Quran, philanthropist, loving and has excellent academic achievement from Harward University in the United States.
"Portraying an icon like this can easily stick in the minds of the young generations. It is among the initiatives to help them to be more focused and with accurate direction to be successful in whatever fields they venture into," he said.
He was met by reporters after a Besut-level TN50 dialogue session titled Feelings of Firdaus Imtiaz (Firasat Firdaus Imtiaz) here Saturday.
TN50, which was founded to map the direction of the country in the next 30 years after 2020, was introduced in January and, to date, tour sessions had been held in Sabah and Terengganu and was set to be done in Perak. -- Bernama
