Zahida Rafik's former driver, Noor Azman Azemi, 39, was at the office of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) here to give his statement on a claim of the artist receiving a huge sum of
money from Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
Noor Azman's lawyer, Latheefa Koya, who is Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) legal bureau chairman, said her client was at the MACC office for about an hour to facilitate the investigation, carried out under the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act.
"Noor Azman has extended his cooperation by providing all the necessary information. So, we hope the MACC will proceed with the investigation and take the necessary action, she told reporters when met after the session at MACC.
Latheefa said they were also happy with the treatment extended by MACC today.
Last year, Zahida was reported to have lodged a police report against Noor Azman for allegedly fleeing with RM200,000 of her company's fund, while Noor Azman lodged a police report claiming that Mohd Shafie had an affair with Zahida and had given her a huge sum of money.
