Police have identified the police officer involved and responsible in recording and distributing a video clip featuring a famous singer while in custody.

The singer was detained after being suspected of drug abuse.
Selangor chief of police, Datuk Abdul Samah Mat in a statement said that the investigation done under Section 233 of the 1998 Communication and Multimedia Act will be continued to identify the officer and other officers involved in distributing the video.
“Investigation will be completed as fast as possible and will be given to the Deputy prosecutor for further action.
“The internal investigation in terms of misconduct and compliance of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is also being done by the Selangor police Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS),” said the statement.
The Selangor police have guaranteed that a transparent investigation will be held and internal action would be taken accordingly against the officer involved.
The one-minute-and-21-second clip shows Zamani who became a household in the 90s' coaxed to sing ‘Gerimis Mengundang’ - the tune popularised by pop rock outfit, Slam with his hands handcuffed. The video has gone viral since it was uploaded on social media, today.
