Zulhasnan Rafique is new Malaysian ambassador to United States

The Malaysian government has appointed Tan Sri Dr Zulhasnan Rafique as the new Ambassador to the United States.
According to a statement issued by Foreign Ministry today, his appointment is to replace Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin.
Previously, Zulhasnan has served as Federal Territories Minister from 2006 to 2009 and Deputy Federal Territories Minister from 2004 to 2006.
He was also Wangsa Maju Member of Parliament (MP) from 1999 to 2004 and Setiawangsa MP from 2004 to 2013.
Since 2014, Zulhasnan was the Chancellor of Geomatika University College Malaysia.
