The poignant definition of Warisan, the tune once popularised by the late Sudirman Haji Arshad is the reason why it has been chosen as theme song for the 57th Merdeka Day celebration.
"Malaysia, Di Sini Lahirnya Sebuah Cinta is truly special as it is truly heartfelt and tugs at the heartstrings of listeners. It (the tune) is about true love towards one's country. Love not just for a country but it encompasses as aspects of the word," said Communication and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek.
Shabery also added that a campaign titled, "Memori Chow Kit Road" (Memory of Chow Kit Road) will take place between August 29 and 31.
Among the activities which will be carried out the month of independence are Military Asset Exhibition, youth settlement and carnival for goods sold on the Internet.
