Family members of Tambi Jiee are grateful that his remains will be brought home today and hope that the remains of his other children can be identified.
Tambi,49, his wife Ariza Ghazalee,47, and all four children, Muhammad Afif,19, Muhammad Afzal,17, Marsha Azmeena,15, and Muhammad Afruz,13, were killed in the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH17 tragedy on July 17.
On August 22, the remains of Ariza and Muhammad Afif were brought home and funeral prayers were held at Masjid Jamek, Petra Jaya before burial in one grave in Semariang Muslim cemetery.
Ariza's sister, Mazalina, said although the family members are feeling sad, they are ready to receive Tambi's remains today.
They will also continue to offer prayers so that the remains of Tambi's three other children could be identified.
"We invite Muslims to attend funeral prayers to be held before Zohor prayers at Masjid Jamek, Petra Jaya before the remains are brought to Semariang Muslim Cemetery for burial," she said before leaving for Kuala Lumpur on flight MH2521 at 2.35 pm to represent Ariza's family.
Mazalina, who was accompanied by her husband, Irwan Zulkarnain Hasbi said two others representing Tambi's family will leave for Kuala Lumpur at 4pm to attend the ceremony in honour of MH17 victims.
The ceremony will be held at Bunga Raya Complex of KL International Airport (KLIA) before the remains are put on a Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) aircraft and expected to arrive at Kuching RMAF base at 11.15 am.
Flight MH17 crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17 as it was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur with 283 passengers and 15 crew on board.
The Boeing 777-200 aircraft is believed to have been shot down over the troubled country.
Besides Malaysians, nationals from the Netherlands, Australia, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, the Philippines, Canada and New Zealand were among the 298 passengers and crew on board.
