The remains of Chong Yee Pheng, a crew member of the ill-fated Malaysia Airlines (MAS) Flight MH17 will be buried at Paradise Memorial Park in Chemor here on Sunday.
A close friend of the victim's family, who wanted to be known as Chan, in her 40s, said Chong's family wanted her remains to 'rest' for two days at their home before being buried at noon on Sunday.
"During those two days, we have invited the pastor of the Lutheran Christian Church nearby to perform religious rites," she told Bernama at the Chong family residence in Taman Pertama here, Thursday.
Chan said all of Chong's family members had travelled to Kuala Lumpur at 2pm Thursday to attend the ceremony honouring the victims of the MH17 tragedy and would return here to perform the religious ceremonies.
Several preparations have also been made by Paradise Memorial Park Sdn Bhd, which has been appointed by the victim's family to manage her burial ceremony.
Flight MH17 crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17 as it was flying from Amsterdam to KL with 283 passengers and 15 crew on board. The Boeing 777-200 aircraft is believed to have been shot down over the troubled country.
Besides Malaysians, nationals from the Netherlands, Australia, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, the Philippines, Canada and New Zealand were among the 298 passengers and crew on board.
