A campaign aimed at raising funds to encourage a private firm to help in the search of the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) MH370 which went missing since March 8, has been launched.

According to a report by NBC News, the campaign has successfully raised six thousand dollars (RM19.2 thousand) just one day since its launch. The campaign aims to raise five million dollar (RM16 million) by July 8 or four months since the disappearance of the aircraft.

One of the founder of the fund, Sarah Bajc said that they are confident of achieving their aim with even more in hand.

Bajc’s partner, Philip Wood was one of the passenger on board flight MH370.

Bajc launched the fund together with four other family members of other passengers on board MH370 who are determined to find the cause of the missing aircraft.

Those involved are Ghislain Wattrelos, whose child and wife were onboard, Peter Weeks, whose brother was on board; and K.S. Narendran and Pralhad Shirseth, whose wives were aboard the missing plane.

"When officials “first supplied modified and limited Inmarsat data, and then announced that the ocean pings were false leads, we knew it was time to act,” Bajc said.

Despite a massive search efforts by the Malaysian and Australian team, the aircraft has yet to be found.

Based on Inmarsat datas, investigators have concluded that the aircraft has crashed in the Indian Ocean west of Australia.

A video has been uploaded on Indiegogo.com by the founders of the fund who also claim of conspiracy theory surrounding the disappearance of the plane.

The project leader, Ethan Hunt was also seen holding a ply card with the words “The truth is out there and someone somewhere knows the TRUTH!”

A substantial reward will also be given to those who provide information on the missing flight. A secure website for investigators and “whistle-blowers” to submit tips will also launch on June 15, the family members said.
