The Malaysian Government remains cordial and sincere to the Chinese next-of-kin of passengers on board the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.

As such, the Government would not conceal any truth or information from the families, said Special Officer to China Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun.

However, in view of the investigations into the plane still underway, the information pertaining to the ill-fated aircraft had to be remain sealed, said Chew, who is also MCA vice-president.

"We have never had any intention of concealing information from the families, and we do not have the ability to cover up the truth from the countries involved, in the massive search and rescue (SAR) operations, which work with us at the same area.

"You should trust the countries involved in the SAR operations," she told the family members at the Lido Hotel here during a regular briefing on Friday.

During the briefing, Chew was asked to answer some technical questions on the missing flight, which were raised by the next-of-kin, although she was dispatched here to provide emotional support and caregiving to the families.

At times, the families expressed discontent over her response as she was unable to answer all sorts of questions involving the technical aspects of MH370.

They even blamed the Malaysian Government of hiding the truth behind the missing plane, and even urged the government to release the passengers on board the ill-fated aircraft.

Chew told the families she shared the sorrow and pain of the next-of-kin.

"Maybe, during the process of conversation, the answers given are inconsistent with their expectations," she said.

Chew was appointed by the Malaysian Cabinet to represent Malaysia in China to meet with family members of passengers of MH370 which vanished on March 8, about an hour after taking off from the KL International Airport at 12.41am.

There were 227 passengers and 12 crew on board the Boeing 777-200ER aircraft which was scheduled to arrive in Beijing at 6.30am on the same day.

On March 24, Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced that Flight MH370 "ended in the southern Indian Ocean". The search continues there.
