U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed an emerging memorandum of understanding with Iran on negotiations, with Netanyahu welcoming Trump's commitment that any final deal would require Iran to dismantle its enrichment infrastructure and remove enriched material, Netanyahu's office said.
A statement posted by Netanyahu’s office on X said the Israeli leader expressed appreciation for Trump’s commitment that any final agreement would include the removal of enriched nuclear material, the dismantling of enrichment infrastructure, limits on missile production and the cessation of Iran’s support for what it described as terrorist proxies in the region.
According to the statement, Netanyahu said that while Israel is not a party to the memorandum of understanding, he welcomed the U.S. position on the conditions required for a final agreement with Iran.
