MH370 has gone missing with the 227 passengers and 12 crew members. They are being awaited by many who are wilting due to immense stress and anxiety.
Malaysia Airlines and the Ministry of Health need to be appreciated for sending in a team of carers and volunteers to provide assistance, medical care and counselling to family members of the passengers.
The next of kin have been traumatised by the episode and the anxiety and stress has been aggravated due to the uncertainty of the fate of MH 370. They have become and seem fidgety, moody, irritable, short-tempered and generally unhappy. They have a right to timely and correct information.
Do we have to add onto the stress. We must avoid speculation and confuse them more. We should let the experts do what has to be done, though it certainly this needs to be improved on. Communication and empathetic actions are important in this hour of need.
Stress that continues may lead to serious health problems, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, anxiety disorder, and other illnesses in addition to suicidal thoughts.
MH370 is a mysterious distressing event the world has never witnessed or to deal with before .The world is also at wit's end and trying to decipher what actually went wrong . Assigning blame rather giving answers is human tendency which we should not be tempted to do too. Lets focus on finding the MH 370 and not stress everybody.
The world, especially the big-boys USA and China are ' bullying' Malaysia for answers when they themselves have no answers. The world press is pulverising the image of Malaysia. At this stage instead of joining in the criticism , we should stand by the Nation and the leaders who are trying to resolve this mystery with the resources at hand. Arm chair critics without having a clue of how the aviation industry add onto the stress for all - the next of kin and those who supposedly trying to resolve the mystery of MH370. Let the expert handle it and lets not add onto the pressure-cooker stress level now.
When 9/11 happened the citizens of USA stood together. It was national pride and loyalty that brought all Americans together . It was the rallying point not criticising and throwing tantrums. They did not blame the government for being caught unawares and unprepared .They blamed the perpetrators . They have since addressed all those deficiencies in their security system and have made not only the USA but the world a safer place.
May be when we finally have the answers , we can take the necessary action against those responsible. Let heads roll. if need be, if they are found to be grossly negligent.
Till then lets stand together as a Nation and not be torn apart by stress.
