KUALA LUMPUR: PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has denied submitting a list of MPs who have expressed support for him to become the Prime Minister and subsequently form a new government.
On the other hand, Anwar said he only revealed a total of 38 MPs from his party who had supported him.
"In my statement, I only presented the letter and also the documents and no name was mentioned.
"As the PKR president, I informed that there are 38 MPs from PKR who showed strong support for me," he said in his press conference after appearing to give a statement in Bukit Aman on Friday.
Earlier, the Port Dickson MP arrived at the Bukit Aman Police Headquarters at around 3 pm through Gate 2 to testify regarding the list of MPs who allegedly gave a strong majority for him to lead the new government.
Director of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ), Datuk Huzir Mohamed had previously informed that the police received more than 113 reports regarding the alleged support of MPs for Anwar.
The case was conducted in accordance with Section 505 (b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
