638 motion of UMNO divisions answered - Hishammuddin

Feedback and replies to all the 638 motions from UMNO divisions presented last year have been answered by the ministries, departments, agencies and UMNO supreme council.
UMNO vice president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said of the total, 547 motions were addressed to ministries, departments and agencies, while 91 were addressed to the supreme council.
"A total of 32 out of the 638 motions related to ministries, departments and agencies have been returned (to the respective entities), to get a more precise answer.
"This is the first time we have done a follow-up to get answers from the relevant ministries," he said in a statement today.
Hishammuddin, who is also Defence Minister, said the replies to the motions had been sent to the divisions, and feedback to the motions were also tabled in the UMNO Division Delegates' meeting held recently.
In addition, he said, the roundtable meeting expected to be held two weeks before the UMNO general assembly this time would examine and strengthen the drafts prepared by the supreme council's motion committee.
He said it would involve intellectuals, academics, corporate leaders, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), youth associations, professional groups, private sector, students and stakeholders outside UMNO.
Regarding the preparation of the supreme council's motions, Hishammuddin said he would chair the president's keynote address motion, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed (economic motion), Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom (religious motion) and Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid (education motion).
Also involved are other members of the supreme council, Datuk Seri Sharkar Shamsudin (governance of spokespersons including those of wing movements), Datuk Razali Ibrahim (governance of motions from divisions in conjunction with UMNO Division Delegates' meeting and motions of wing movements) and Datuk Dr Ashraf Wajdi Dasuki (governance of the roundtable meeting).
In addition, Constitution and Legal Bureau of Sabah chairman Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak would head the governance of communications and media, while the Constitution and Legal Bureau of Selangor chairman, Mat Nadzari Ahmad Dahlan, on the governance and administration of the proposed ammendments to the constitution and management of UMNO elections.
Hishammuddin said the committees and the bureaus would hold meetings with the state UMNO liaisons and heads of the Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings to receive views and feedback on the motions to be tabled during the assembly.
Yesterday, UMNO president and Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced that the UMNO General Assembly this year would be held from Dec 8 to 12.
