Abdul Hadi retains PAS presidency

Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang today retained his presidency with 695 vote majority.

Abdul Hadi had received 928 votes while his challenger Ahmad Awang received 233 votes at the PAS 61st Muktamar, held at Kuala Selangor.

This is the first time Abdul Hadi is challenged in his 12 years of holding the position.

However, incumbent deputy president Mohamad Sabu lost to his challenger Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man who won with a 602 vote majority.

Mohamad Sabu or Mat Sabu only received 279 votes while Tuan Ibrahim received 881 votes.

A total of 1,189 delegates had voted at the Pas Muktamar today.
