Tan Sri Muhammad Muhamad Taib said Ahmad Awang is the right person to unite and lead PAS to greater heights.
Former UMNO vice-president Tan Sri Muhammad Muhamad Taib said Ahmad Awang is the right person to unite and lead PAS to greater heights.
Speaking at a forum last night, the now PAS member said some PAS members are trying to kill off the political careers of their party men.
He said such acts are only detrimental to the party.
“We want to move forward. Not fight among ourselves. PAS needs a leader to unite the party,” he had said at the forum.
“Looking at the situation now, I believe Ahmad Awang is the right person,” he added.
He said he was not disheartened with PAS but was just upset that some party leaders are not working to drive the Islamic party forward.

He also urged the party to start working together with party members and with their Pakatan Rakyat allies.
Also present at the forum were Ahmad and central committee member candidate Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaluddin.
Party elections will be held during the PAS Muktamar from June 4 to 6 at Kuala Selangor stadium.
This will also be the first time PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang is challenged since he held the position, 12 years ago.
The last time PAS president position was challenged was 55 years ago, during the fifth PAS Muktamar.
