Ahmad Bashah's hale and hearty, health rumour is malicious

Rumours about Kedah Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah's deteriorating health condition has escalated into a personal attack peppered with malicious intent.

Kedah UMNO Youth Chief, Datuk Shaiful Hazizy Zainol Abidin said the speculation proves nothing but his alleged incompetency in carrying out his tasks as a leader.

“The fact remains that Ahmad Bashah is hale and hearty and is very much focused in the State development affairs,” said Shaiful.

“His visit to the hospital was a regular medical routine to follow-up on his condition following an intestine surgery he underwent in June this year.

“Ahmad Bashah did not collapse as portrayed, he had fulfilled formal invitations and chaired a series of party and state meetings,” he added.

“In fact, Ahmad Bashah is scheduled to chair an Exco meeting on Sept 21,” he said to Astro AWANI, here, today.

Shaiful also quashed rumours by irresponsible quarters which had been circulating for several days claiming that Ahmad Bashah is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Shaiful, who is also Ahmad Bashah’s political secretary said that the MB’s initiative to fulfil his appointments is testimony that he is well, and is proof that he is determined to recover and serve the rakyat.

“Yes, it is true that Ahmad Bashah is constantly required to undergo medical check-up at the hospital. He is getting assistance from Muafakat Kedah in ensuring both the Government and party are well-maintained.

“Several major agenda are in the pipeline and the party machinery is fully-prepared to execute them,” he added.
