AHMAD HUSNI: I want to relax. If possible I want some space in carrying out my duties...there's still a lot more to do in terms of development.
At the moment, former second finance minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah is not ready to see anyone who wants to discuss things with him, as he is still resting.
"I want to relax. If possible I would like to have some space in carrying out my duties.
"There's still a lot to do in terms of development, such as eradicating poverty among people, for example. But right now, I want to rest for a bit," he told reporters when met at the Aidilfitri open house of the General Operations Force North Brigade at the Ulu Kinta GOF training centre here today.
The Tambun MP was asked about his future plans after having resigning from his Cabinet post, and several other posts in UMNO and Barisan Nasional, last month.

The ex-BN treasurer and Tambun UMNO division chief, however, did not deny there were some quarters and individuals who wanted to meet him, but he refused to do so.
This was because he was still trying to adjust to his new position.
"There were some leaders from BN and the Opposition as well as fence-sitters, who wanted to see me.
"But I'm not aware of their intentions, if it is related to politics or something else," he said.

Ahmad Husni said, he is still holding three major posts, namely member of the Parliamentary legislature, President of the Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (AFPPD) and Tambun MP until his term expires in 2018.
Thus, he stressed that he would carry out all his responsibilities wholeheartedly to help those who are suffering from the economic problems and poverty in the country.
Last month, Ahmad Husni resigned as second finance minister and his other positions in UMNO and Perak BN after a Cabinet reshuffle announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
His portfolio in the Cabinet is now taken over by Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani.
